Understand why Meta limited your number, fix the cause, and ask Meta to lift it.

What you see

A card on Home and the Connection page, a mark on the number switcher, and an email. It says one of:

Card	What Meta did	What still works
Meta has restricted this number	Sending is limited or stopped (Meta status Restricted, Rate limited or Banned).	Usually nothing new; existing chats may still receive messages.
Meta has flagged this number for low quality	A warning: quality has been low. If it does not improve within 7 days, Meta lowers your messaging limit.	Everything, for now.
Meta has blocked new conversations on your WhatsApp account	The whole WhatsApp account can’t start conversations (the card shows Meta’s reason).	Replies inside the 24-hour window.

Find Meta’s reason

1. Open Business Support Home: business.facebook.com/business-support-home and pick your business portfolio.
2. Look for the WhatsApp account or number with a warning, and open it to read the reason (for example a policy violation, or the business not passing verification).
3. Also check WhatsApp Manager → Overview (business.facebook.com/wa/manage) — Meta shows account warnings at the top.

Fix it

• Policy violation: remove what broke the rule (for example messaging people who did not opt in, or a forbidden product), then click Request review in Business Support Home. Meta answers in a few days.
• Business verification: finish business verification.
• Flagged for quality: pause marketing campaigns, message only people who opted in, make templates useful and easy to stop. See Number health.

Then press Recheck now on the card in the panel. The card disappears once Meta reports the number as fine again.

Caution

Don’t connect a new number to get around a restriction: Meta ties restrictions to the business, and a second number usually ends up restricted too.
